I ordered this case a week ago before they sold out. My iPad 3G arrived yesterday and this case fits like a glove. I originally ordered the official apple case 1 month ago BUT I noticed that the back of the case was made of cloth and would not provide enough protection if I accidentally dropped it. I found this case at the hard candy case website and was surprised that amazon actually had some in stock.
This case is made out of flexible thick plastic that provides excellent protection. The screen protector is made out of the same material and provides maximum protection for your screen. The grooves in the case gives you extra grip so the iPad cannot easily slip out of your hand.
The main reason I choose this case is because the screen protector is removable and easily stores on the back of the case. My original apple case opened like a book but the flap of the case interfered with my ability to get a good grip while using the iPad.
UPDATE!!……………I still like this case BUT it makes my iPad feel a bit heavy(bulky) AND the detachable cover seemed like a good idea but I eventually stopped using the cover because I didn’t want to carry it around with me. I now use a “Casecrown Canvas Flip Stand Case”, my new case is a BETTER version of the official apple iPad case. You can find them on amazon, they have a vertical and horizontal version of the same case and they are available in black, gray or purple.

This case does an awesome job of protecting my new iPad, and I love how the textured cover makes it easy to grip the iPad when I am holding it or carrying it. It is not stretchy like the silicone cases can be, but is more like hardened rubber. My only complaint is that the removable screen cover is a pain to attach to the case. The cover is secured via tabs on the corners of the case. It is somewhat difficult to get the openings in the cover to actually pop into place on the tabs. That said, I would still buy this case again.

It took a long time for me to decide what case to buy for my iPad. There were a lot of good ones but were twice the price of the Hard Candy case. After reading the good reviews and finally decided to get the Hard Candy case.
I love it! Product feels and looks like its made of high quality materials. Seems like it will last the life of the iPad. As mentioned in the other reviews, having the grooves it feels good when holding the iPad. What I really like about this is that I can cover up the iPad when storing it.
It does feel a bit heavier though.
Tip, initially I bought a Belkin netbook sleeve (not case, sorry) from Ross (10 bucks!). Even with the Hard Candy case, the iPad still fits inside the netbook case. Now its doubly protected if stuffed inside a bag.
After putting on the case, my baby daughter dropped it after maybe an hour. Whew!

One of the first things I noticed about the iPad is how it always felt like it was about to slip out of my hands when I was carrying it. I was looking for something that would make it easier to grip and offer some protection. This is a great product and I am very satisfied with the purchase. It encases the iPad in a hard plastic shell which significantly easier to grip. The screen is protected with a separate easily removed cover that snaps on to four posts on the corners of the cover. I don’t always put this cover on unless I’m putting the iPad in a bag or carrying it out and around. The case doesn’t have a stand to prop it up on but which may or may not be a problem for you depending on what you are looking for. It is a little pricey for a case but it does offer a good deal of protection for the iPad.

I purchased an iPad for my wife and this case is working great. It does make the device easier to hold and it does a good job of protecting the iPad. I looked at this case because I bought the Speck Tough-skin cases for the iPod touch units we have at my office, and this was the closest thing to that I could find. For the short amount of time the iPad has been out, this is the best case option I have seen for it.
